Programming / Software update tab is greyed out - Can't program with ISTA

Symptom:
Programming / Software update tab is greyed out - Can't program with ISTA.

Cause:
The software setup got executed with insufficient privileges (the user didn't run as administrator), or there is a registry key corruption.

Verified fix (30 seconds):

Please download the following fix file to your ISTA laptop, right click and select ‘Merge’ :

Click ‘yes’ then ‘OK’ when you see the warning window.

 


 

This will fix the programming & software update tab issue.

 

The fix is tested and verified by our developers on a real BMW vehicle.
